Dr David Martin

David Martin BSc, PhD, PGCE, CMath, CMathTeach, CSci, FIMA, FSET, QTS, QTLS

David is the u3a National Subject Advisor for Mathematics and Statistics.

He is a very experienced 1to1 tutor in mathematics and has enjoyed varied work as a Mathematics Education Consultant including representing the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics, advisory work for a major awarding body, work on various mathematics education research projects at the University of Nottingham, and data analysis for a national charity.

David is qualified up to level 8 in Mathematics having completed a PhD in Mathematics in the field of Molecular Quantum Mechanics. He has qualified teacher status in the schools sector (QTS) and through Professional Formation in the FE sector (QTLS) and has an additional teaching qualification to teach adult numeracy within FE.
